Anne of Green Gables 1985

Directed by Kevin Sullivan.  Produced by Ian McDougall, Lee Polk, Kevin Sullivan, Ellen Freyer, and Trudy Grant.  Music by Hagood Hardy Written by Lucy Maud Montgomery, Kevin Sullivan, and Joe Wiesenfeld. Stars Megan Follows, Colleen Dewhurst, and Richard Farnsworth.                                 

13 year old Anne Shirley played by (Megan Follows) has been an orphan her whole life. She had been living with the Hammond Family in Nova Scotia. When Mr. Hammond played by (Ray Ireland), dies of a heart attack Anne is sent back to the orphanage Mrs. Hammond played by (Jayne Eastwood) had always been unkind to Anne.

Meanwhile in Prince Edward Island Matthew Cuthbert played by ( Richard Farnsworth) and Marilla Cuthbert played by (Colleen Dewhurst, )who own Green Gables farm. Decide to get an orphan boy to help Matthew around the farm. When they send the request the it gets mixed up and they send for a girl instead of a boy.

When Anne gets news that she has been adopted by a couple in Prince Edward Islands she’s thrilled.

When Matthew goes to see the train he is quite surprised to find a girl waiting for him instead of a boy. Seeing no other way he takes Anne back with him.

While all this is going on the neighbor Rachel Lynde played by (Patricia Hamilton) comes by to talk to Marilla. When she finds out there adopting a boy she is shocked and tells Marilla a bunch of terrible story’s about orphans. All to which Marilla ignores.

Meanwhile  Anne talks Matthews ear off. Matthew, being a quite sort of guy, listens with amusement. When they get to Green Gables Racheal has already left. Marilla is not at all pleased when Matthew returns with a girl and wants to send Anne back .Anne is devastated.

But Matthew is completely smitten with girl and tries to get Marilla to keep her.

The next day when Marilla goes to talk about getting a boy instead and Anne going somewhere else. Marilla has a change of heart when she see's the people Anne is going to live with, and decides to keep her. Then it’s off to the races with Anne and her adventures. Among other things she insults Rachel when she makes a comment about Anne’s red hair at which she is very sensitive about. Becomes best friends with a girl named Diana Barry played by (Schuyler Grant). Smash’s her slate over a boy named Gilbert Blythe’s played by (Jonathan Crombie) when he calls her carrots.  Accidently gets Diana drunk. Falls off a roof and breaks her ankle. And accidently dyes her hair green!

When accidently gets Dian drunk, Mrs. Barry played by (Rosemary Radcliffe) is furies with Anne and refuses to let Dianna see her. Then when Mrs. Barry and a group of others including Marilla go to a meeting. Dianna’s little sister Minnie May Barry played by (Morgan Chapman) gers sick, Dianna gets Anne and Anne saves her life. Thus saving her and Dianna’s friendship. As they grow up Gilbert and Anne continue to compete with everything. Including getting scholarships.

Then Matthew dies and Marilla has to sell the farm and move in with Rachel. In the end Gilbert gives Anne his school so she can stay near Marilla and they fall in love.           

Mandie and the Secret Tunnel

Written Directed and Produced by Joy Chapman, Tim McIntosh and Owen Smith. Music by Owen Smith. Stars Joy Chapman and   Dean Jones, Lexi Johnson and William Smith Yelton.                                                            
When Amanda Shaw, nicknamed Mandie, played by (Lexi Johnson) father Jim Shaw, played by (Adam Boyer) dies, her stepmother Etta Shaw, played by (Angela Oberer), who Mandie had always believed was real mother, reveals that she is going to send Mandie, and her cat Snowball away to work for a family with children. Mandie's adopted Uncle Ned, played by (Craig Reuben) who is a Cherokee Indian, takes her away to find her father’s brother, Uncle John Shaw, played by (Terrell Anthony), the uncle she never knew.
When they arrive they find that Uncle John is gone and only the grounds keeper Jason Bond, played by (Dean Jones), the house keeper Aunt Lou, played by (Gezell Fleming), and the servant, Liza, played by (Brandi Nicole Feemster) home. And so Mandie stays there to wait for her Uncle’s return.
While their she makes some a new friend. Polly, played by (Amanda Waters). And one of her old friends some to visit, Joe Woodard, played by (William Smith Yelton) and his father Doctor Woodard, played by (Ted Johnson).
Soon news gets around that Mandie is related to Uncle John, who is very rich, and fake cousins and aunts start coming to claim money. Then Mandie finds out that her uncle drowned and that no one can find the will or the inheritance. Mandie, Polly and Joe find the money and will, along with the fact that her Uncle Joe is alive. Then Mandie is in for one more surprise, her mother, Elizabeth Shaw, played by (L.A. Winters) is alive as well. She meets her, and finds out that her mother was the reason that her father and uncle stopped speaking to each other. And also finds out that she has a grandmother.
